Measurable Results

Our students receive pre- and post-program assessments to measure changes throughout the course of the school year. The following results are the culmination of a four-year study of CAP’s programs by the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida in partnership with the State of Florida Department of Health.

  • 79% improved their grades
  • 79% improved their ability to express anger and conflict appropriately
  • 81% improved their class participation
  • 81% improved their behavior when working with others in a group
  • 83% improved their communication skills with adults
  • 82% improved their communication skills with peers
  • 84% improved in task completion

And let's not forget those intrinsic benefits of the arts that are difficult to measure yet difficult to live without - creativity, critical thinking, empathy, civic values, captivation, revelation and, according to Einstein, the most of important of all - imagination.

Anyone who has had a meaningful experience in the arts knows how the arts can breathe new life and hope and energy into one's world in ways nothing else can. The arts are indeed essential - not only for learning and for the jobs of the 21st century but also for a life well lived.
